Artificial BloodKünstliches Blut

写真の説明を入れます

We have developed artificial oxygen carriers composed of hemoglobin (Hb) combining with human serum albumin and synthetic polymers (product names: HemoAct, Hemoxa, Hb nanoparticles, etc.). These formulations have no blood type and can be powdered by freeze-drying. Currently, we are evaluating their safety and efficacy in a joint team with the medical and pharmaceutical scientists. It has been proved to be effective as a resuscitation fluid for hemorrhagic shock (Saitama Medical University) and a therapeutic agent for cerebral infarction (Hokkaido University). An entirely synthetic artificial oxygen carrier can also be produced by using recombinant Hb. Universal red blood cells without blood type have also been developed.
